Imperial Castle - Nuremberg (Nürnberg)

Sept 2010: During my stay in Furth (Germany), my colleague Helmut took me around to Imperial Castle in Nuremberg (Nürnberg) city. We started after our dinner at Grafe (A hotel well known for the Fish dishes), it was already around 8.30 PM and was raining. Helmut recommended that I take a look at some places atleast from inside car. Luckily he had an umbrella with him. So that helped us to getdown from the car and take a small walk. Saw the Nürnberg christmas market area, a Hotel known for old style service, saw the church from outside, a glimse of the castle tower as we walked up and I also saw guides dressed in ancient styled night gaurds with a lantern in hand and giving night tour to the tourists.

Was very impressed by the importance given by these people and their govt to restore the history and pass it on to the next gen.

Nürnberg is famous for its Christmas market and I heard that people from all over the world come here to witness that.
The city was greatly destroyed during the second world war and post war lot of efforts have gone in to build the city. The city has got very good public transportation. I saw Bus facility, Trams, Trians. It also has an airport connected to the major cities of Germany & I think Eurpoe too.
