Pfronten, Reutte, Garmisch - Bavaria (South Germany)

Pfronten:

Pfronten is a very nice and beautiful Bavarian town in south Germany. I had a chance to visit this place on business purpose during the last week of March 2012.

A small city at the base of Alp’s with plenty to offer, that’s how I will define this city. I was mesmerized by the nature here. The city is also well known for tourism.

More details of the city could be found from the following website - http://www2.pfronten.de/index.shtml?pfen_homepage

Some snaps that I clicked in Pfronten.

Reutte & Garmisch:

From Pfronten, I had to travel to Eschenlohe another small Bavarian town in south Germany. To reach there I took the train from Pfronten to Reutte and from Reutte to Garmisch. I joined my other colleagues at Garmisch and from there travelled by car to Murnau where I had my hotel booking.

The train journey was a wonderful experience. I have always admired the ICE trains in Germany, but this time I had a chance to travel in the regional trains. From Pfronten the train gradually enters into the Alps valley. I say train journey is the best to enjoy and to travel through such spectacular scenery, always better than car journey.

From Reutte to Garmisch on either side of the track we find high range mountains and beautiful small towns and villages. Some curves are really breath taking. Though it was last week of March there was still lot of snow and temperature was around 12°C to 15°C during the day. The snow clad mountain ranges and the valleys are really a great treat to the eyes.

Reutte & Garmisch has more to offer than Pfronten – be it the nature, tourism or the sports.

Reutte is a small town in the valley of the Alps Mountains of Austria. It is here I had to change my train to Garmisch. It is one of the most favorite destinations for the skiers in Germany and from abroad.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a beautiful dual town at the base of the Alps Mountain in Bavaria, southern Germany. It is in the border of Germany & Austria. Very nearby to Garmisch is the Germany’s highest peak Zugspitze which is around 2961 m high. I had my dinner with my colleagues at an Indian restaurant – The Taj Mahal. The food here is very much desi & is run by some Punjabi’s. Glad to taste Indian food after almost 15 days.

Reutte and Garmisch are also very well known as tourist as well as sports destinations - majorly for skiing /cross country skiing, mountain biking, hiking etc.
